How do I get my games into distribution?
Getting product into distribution is a tough process. Distributors tend not to want to work with smaller publishers for small quantities of items and SKUs. As a result, publishers have turned to
consolidators to interface with distribution. As of September 2018, IGA has offered a consolidation service for our members. Other major consolidators in the game industry include Impressions, Hit Point Games and PSI.
If you
give us permission to do so, IGA will make available, via its website and through other specialized file formats as requested by various distributors, games for sale to its partner distributors. There is no minimum sale for your individual game(s), and
no guarantee that any particular game(s) will be purchased by distributors.
To take advantage of this service, you must:
Be an
IGA Pro subscriber in good standing
Complete the
item profile for every item you wish to list
Activate the
distribution permission for every item you wish to list
Provide IGA with stock of every item you wish to list
Because various distributors require different information to integrate your games into their systems, games flagged for distribution require significantly more information to be provided in their
stock item configuration. Please read over this section thoroughly and complete the item configurations as fully as possible before adding the distribution permission flag to games.
IGA will price your items at 40% of the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) you indicate for each product. We reserve the right to discount this price at our discretion. Discounts will be taken from IGA's cut of sales.
Payment for games sold will be on consignment. You will be paid 33% of MSRP for each of your items sold, in accordance with the
payment terms and conditions.
Does IGA require exclusivity like some other consolidators?
IGA does
not require or request exclusivity of any kind. IGA will not, for any reason, knowingly violate any exclusivity clause you may have negotiated with other vendors, consolidators distributors. Generally speaking, we have found that Impressions' contract terms are exclusive, and that PSI and Hit Point vary from contract to contract.
If you are already working with another consolidator, please check your contract details before activating the distribution permission on IGA's site. IGA is not responsible for contractual issues resulting from your activation of distribution permissions that violate your contracts with other entities.
I represent a distributor and would like to buy from IGA. How do I get set up to do that?
